I coordinate the painting schedule for the Plein Air Artists of Colorado for the Colorado Springs group which gives me the opportunity to share plein air with others.

I’ve grown up in the Colorado mountains, and they’ve become a part of my heart and soul. As a native, I love to paint plein air and the effects of light. Painting outside gives me a chance to slow down and soak in what is before me. I paint realistically but in a loose, impressionistic style. I’m inspired by the impressionists.

After graduating from Kansas City Art Institute with a BFA, I worked for 18 years in graphic design. Eight of those years, I ran a free-lance graphic design business. After a career change, I taught art in the public schools (K-5) for 16 years. Since retiring in 2019, I’ve focused on art making and painting, studying with Richard Dahlquist and Chris Alvarez. I have been featured artist through the Pikes Peak Library, and in 2022, I had a one-woman show at the Garden of the Gods Visitor Center.
